Even at birth, Katrina's core was notably larger than those of her brothers and sisters, and, in her opinion, the beginning of a curse she has carried throughout her life.
"Big girl" everyone called her, whether to her face or behind her back, becoming more apparent as she reached adulthood.
Her parents told her she should be grateful for her beauty. That it was surely a gift that would help when the time came for her to marry.
