Strengths
+Sensors- Designed to sense derelicts, the sensors can be modified to detect law enforcement and military ships. Making it popular with those who want to evade the law, military or planetary security forces.

+Grapplers- Designed for exploring derelicts the grapplers have airlocks once it penetrates the hull of a ship, allowing for boarding actions directly from the Scorpio.

+Cargo Space- Two cargo holds worth of space, with nooks and crannies any decent smuggler would find useful.

+Modifiable- Highly modifiable with, multiple hardpoints, sensors and the ability to reroute the hardpoints to the pilots controls.

Weaknesses
-Law of Averages- Average speed, durability and defenses. She won’t be winning any races, withstand a broadside from military ships and often needs repair.

-Unarmed- Although she comes unarmed, the Scorpio comes with twelve hard points. Although great for modifications, if you can’t afford it this civilian vessel is vulnerable.

-Suspicious- The Scorpio has a reputation. The saying goes; “If you see a Scorpio it’s either there to save you or rob you”. Smugglers and pirates love this ship and law enforcement know it. It’s a guarantee pull over if you happen on a patrol. The legitimate salvage, rescue and relief operators get frustrated with this stereotype, but put up with it. If you’re flying a Scorpio you better have your forgeries in order.

-Expensive- Usually only big corporations will sub contract Scorpio's or well funded pirates or crime syndicates will commission one making it fairly rare.

Historical Information
Law Enforcement hate the Scorpio. A pirate and smuggler vessel in disguise. It does however have enough of a legitimate market in salvage and relief organisations that there is little they could do about it. It can never quite be proven that the vessel is designed for criminal activity. The fact that some models seem to come off the line with custom job hard points delivered with lasers, cannons and missile tubes or the sensors already attuned to law enforcement frequencies. Well it could never be proven that CEC was doing so deliberately.

Enough salvage, relief and rescue operators still utilize the Scorpio that it remains in production. The price tag and reputation however keeps it fairly rare.
