OUT-OF-CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name:
Radiated Assault Shrapnel Hurler ( R.A.S.H. )
Type: Improvised explosive device
Credits: Your Imagination
Consolidation Thread: N/A
Description: The R.A.S.H. is a compact, land-based explosive used by the Eshkin in trench warfare, chokepoints, and ambush tunnels. They come in various sizes and shapes, depending on the creator. The device is half-buried and often disguised with filth, refuse, or dirt. At its core sits a Doomstone fragment that pulses erratically, and when triggered by pressure, heat, or vibration, the mine erupts in a brutal 360° arc. These fragments not only pierce armour but infect wounds with toxic warp radiation and necrotic decay, often leading to fatal infections even for those who survive the blast. Some soldiers claim the shrapnel screams when it tears through flesh.

ATTRIBUTES
  • Defence: Low
    • Defensive Elements:
      • Small and easily concealed in terrain
  • Offence: Average
    • Offensive Elements:
      • Fragmentation blast
      • Capable of crippling infantry at close range
      • Some variants emit corrosive gas post-detonation
  • Durability: Low
  • Scarcity: Uncommon
  • TvM Requirement: 4vX

STRENGTHS
+
Small size and irregular form allow it to blend easily into battlefields, ruins, or tunnels.

+ Survivors often panic from the presence of mines, slowing down advancing troops and forcing detours or poor positioning.

+ Compared to other Eshkin weapons, the R.A.S.H. is cheaper and faster to manufacture.

WEAKNESSES
- May detonate near allied Eshkin or under faulty deployment, especially if Doomstone quality is poor.

- Highly lethal within a small radius, but ineffective beyond short range.

- Swamps, bogs, or constant rain may cause short-circuits or weaken explosive potential

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The R.A.S.H. mine first saw widespread deployment during the early stages of the Battle of Bamberg, a brutal siege fought in the muddy lowlands outside the city of Bamberg. The conflict, once intended to be a fast Eshkin overrun, devolved into a miserable, nightmarish trench war as enemy forces dug in with desperation and fanaticism. Early Eshkin assaults suffered catastrophic losses as they charged fortified lines under heavy fire. Seeking a way to break the stalemate, the Eshkin Sappers were deployed. These specialised Eshkin, known for their uncanny sense of subterranean warfare, began seeding no-man’s land and enemy trench approaches with an experimental new device, the Radiated Assault Shrapnel Hurler. Unlike conventional explosives, the R.A.S.H. was designed not just to kill, but to contaminate and demoralise. Medics found themselves overwhelmed by the wounded soldiers whose flesh blistered and blackened hours after being pierced, even from minor injuries. The success of the R.A.S.H. during the Battle of Bamberg marked the beginning of its standardised production for elite sapper regiments. Since then, its presence has become a grim omen, wherever the soil moans beneath your feet, an Eshkin trap may wait, whispering death in the dark.
