Full Name: Hekate Drake
Name: Hekate
Surname(s): Drake
Age:18
Title(s): Servant of Death
Nickname(s): Kate
Sex:Female
Appearance:
Magic Affinity: Strong
Strengths: Assassination- Raised in a death cult, one in which her magic was blocked, she compensated by learning everything she could about assassination, combat, infiltration, exfiltration, seduction, poison, blade, sabotage. Despite little magic she is one of the best assassins in the world.
Knowledgeable- Having very little magic didn’t stop her from studying it, or studying anything really. What better way to learn how to kill then to learn how to heal? Medicine is a passion of hers. What better way to sow discord in a nation than understanding it’s politics? Diplomacy was the key. What better way to manipulate a city than through it’s economics? Money was crucial.
Weaknesses: Cold - Many consider Hekate to be an unfeeling machine, sent to do a task and return. Truthfully she has a cold fury to her nature. Jealousy of her sisters. Approval from her father. She knows she doesn’t smile like the others. Doesn’t act right, doesn’t think right, but she tries. All she cares about is her family. People are curiosities, almost toys to play with, her family though are everything. This self contained world view leads to blind spots where peoples natures are concerned, she get’s theoretically that a person may risk their life for someone they’ve never met, but she doesn’t understand why. Unless she’s been given the mission to do so.
Blocked- Unlike her sisters, Hekate is aware of the block on their nature. She assumed it was a further test of her father, right now though she’s beginning to wonder if even he knows. She’s working in secret to remove the block, because she knows until she does she and her sisters will never reach their full potential.
Biography: Hekate was always a sombre child, she didn’t dream of grand adventures like her sisters, all she wanted was for her sisters to stop going away so often so they could be together as a family. Still Thorondir saw how she was uncaring of anyone who wasn’t family, rarely smiling even with them. He thought her nature on the day of her choosing to be ideal for the Red Priests.
Thorondir could use an agent among them, someone low placed and overlooked. The Red Priests tested her magical ability and found it lacking, but thought her unflinching lack of hesitation to kill could be harnessed. So they trained her as an assassin for the Night Court.
Hekate barely twitched an eyebrow, may have even smirked slightly and accepted the task. Hekate grew up in the death cult of the night court. Unlike her sisters who were introduced only once they had achieved something of worth. Hekate felt special, chosen by her fathers trust in her and her alone. She obeyed all lessons and excelled where she could, though her magic block caused her increasing frustration. She delved deep into books, scrolls and tomes looking for an answer. She found one, a spell to bind her power, and quickly figured her sisters had it as well. At first she assumed her father had done it as a further test. Then she thought of the rumours of her fathers own lack of magical ability from overhearing others in the Night Court talk about it. Someone powerful needed to bind another powers, someone high up in the Night Court. Hekate is determined to find out who, why and how to break the curse.
Upon graduating the academy, Hekate has taken her place both within the family and the night court as an assassin, biding her time until she can break free and become the powerful sorceress she knows she and her sisters were destined to be.
