Name: Empire of the Abyss
Starting Provinces: Erebus, Xenthia, Morgoth, Atrium, Shemland, Rossia, Narghul, Virmire, Distopia, Apocolyse
Brief Description: Established in 851 AWH, the Empire of the Abyss represented the unification of Demon kind. Damian spearheaded expansion efforts in the following century. They have since exploded in size from five to ten provinces. Darkholme, the Capital of Alameda and headquarters for the Empire of the Abyss, is safely situated in Erebus. Very few Humans have had the privilege of glimpsing the seat of the Demon King’s power. Fewer have lived to tell the tale. They seek to either annihilate or subjugate the rest of the races on Terra Firma.

Any child born of Damian will be considered heir to the throne. Beneath them are the six Paragons, the demonic equivalent of a Champion. Each represents one of the species that have sworn loyalty to the Demon King. They are responsible for overseeing their individual species, both in and out of wartimes.

Prevalent Demon Species:

Photrus - These are demonic entities that derive their very nature from the concept of fire itself. Their pigmentation ranges from a deep burgundy to a normal Human complexion. Hair and eye color tends to vary wildly. All members of the species possess a talent with the fire element. Their body runs at a temperature that comparable to fire, preventing them from forming meaningful physical relationships with others. It is rumored that they are corrupted descendants of the Fire Elementals.

Kherrisin - Creatures of lust and love. They possess unearthly beauty, unparalleled by most of the other races. They possess a similar variety to Humanity. There is no set appearance for a member of this race beyond the unnatural physical looks. Pinnacles of the Kherrisin release a potent pheromone into the surrounding air, drawing the attention of everyone. The vast majority are vain and self centered.

Bronelid - Wildly believed to be the weakest of the races, Bronelid are instead known for being intellectual. They have amassed a sizable archive that cover a wide range of topics. While not the greatest warriors on the battlefield, they excel at hit and run tactics. Dropping from the sky to pick off individual combatants. Physically, they can be mistaken for Human if not for their variety of wings and mono-colored eyes.

Brenin - Splintering off from the Bronelid in the Age of the Gods, the Brenin are easily identified by their four arms. They are frequently taller and more muscular than Humans and Bronelid. Other than two extra appendages and mono-colored, they have no other unique traits. Brenin make up the majority of the Demon King’s army; serving as canon fodder.

Nedemoth - It is said that the Nedemoth are descended from the Gigantes. Massive specimens that tower over the rank and file of Demon kind. They are slow and lumbering behemoths. However, they are not foolish. Nedemoth are excellent for sieges and invading enemy territory. They resemble Humanity but with wider and distorted features. Hulking masses of muscle, they have thick skin that is naturally resistant to Magic. Unfortunately, they have a slow reproductive cycle. Nedemoth are lucky to have at least one child every other century. Due to this, the Nedemoth do not possess enough members to field a legitimate army.

Bharon - By far the strongest of the races, the Bharon are known for being reptilian in appearance. They have scales that are thick and hardy; resistant to Magic. With strength comparable to the Nedemoth, the Bharon have a reputation for being prideful to narcissist extremes. A good portion of their people have a natural affinity for lightning derived spells. Rumor suggests that they are descended from the previous Demon King. In truth, the Photrus are the legitimate descendants of Belial himself.
