Strengths
+ Raging Infernals. These warriors feed on the mayhem they create. The more they remain in combat, the more powerful they become.
+ Made Weapons Manifest. The entire existence of the Harbringers is the very weapon they use. From the razor sharp talons, to the deafening screeching warcries, to the fiery shield-like forms of their limbs, these abominations exist only to do one thing: Fight.
+ Bestow Fear. When faced by such foul entities, many a mortal would shake in instinct-driven fear.
Weaknesses
- Slaves of Carnage. The Harbringers exist only to fight. The more they are denied that purpose, the less stable their units become. Should they are kept too long without the ability to immerse themselves in battle, they are quick to turn against the closest target they can identify, friend or foe, no longer matter.
- Devils of the Arcane. These infernal warriors are spawns of dark magicks and live off the harvest of similar bleak effects. Exposing themselves to magick suppression or nullifying auras is harmful to them, and can swiftly degenerate them into little more than primitives.
- Demanding Champions; Never a servant. The Harbringers are exalted among the demonkind, and thus refuse to serve any master but Destruction itself. They may join a demonic host only after sealing pacts of irreversible blasphemy and binding promises of mayhem. Should one fails to deliver to their deals, the Harbringers may quickly turn against them.
Historical Information
The Harbringers are exalted warriors of the demonkind, picked by the foul overlords of Iši-Nang Múd to be remade as proper avatars of destruction. The tradition of the Harbringer war-cult is said to trace its origins aeons ago in ages long forgotten even by the demonkind, yet the practice remains pure.
To be made into a Harbringer, a demon of any lineage or breed must be chosen after proving themselves in brutal acts of might and shocking attrocities that made them stand out even from the infernals of the demonkind. After being chosen, the Chosen must fulfill a series of horrific trials known as the "Nine Blasphemies", which include killing other powerful demons, or even, other Harbringers. After the trials are completed, and the Chosen survives, the overlords of Iši-Nang Múd take the Chosen into the deep caverns of Iši-Nang Múd, where the real transformation may begin.
By employing infernal magicks and trapped souls of demons and mortals alike, the Chosen is mutated in manner so unfathomably horrific even to themself, the mind is cleansed of all but insanity and pain. A pain that shall remain in the Harbringer's mind for eternity after the transformation, guiding the ever-craving hunger for destruction, with the lementations and cries caused by the Harbringer being the sole thing that can possibly silence, even for few moments, the insanity's screams within their mind.
A Harbringer's body reflects little to not at all their past race or demonic bloodline, having undergone so much mutation they resemble a shell rather than anything identifiable. After they have been transcended into their final form, the Harbringers roam the Iši-Nang Múd's surroundings, or hunt other demons within the hollow peaks.
Many a demon overlord have managed over the eons to make pacts with the Harbringers, offering inconceivable mayhem and destruction in exchange for the Harbringers to become part of their demonic hosts. Alas, while demonic armies are dreaded across Erova for ther capacity to inflict horrors to the mortal races, these standards, for the demonic ranks, are much much higher, leading to many a time the overlord being betrayed by Harbringer herds who turn rogue, or ignore commands in order to pursue their own paths, sometimes against the demonic host's interests...
