TECHNOLOGY TEMPLATE
Name: Cortosis imbued/coated Beskar Metal or AKA Corskar
Type: Material
Credits: NA
Consolidation Thread: <Link> (13-16 Tier Need 20 posts)
Description: This is a chemically created alloy with Beskar as the main base, to which carbon and Cortosis atoms are bound through melting and smelting. Finally, a Cortosis coating is applied to the alloy's surface via electrochemical plating. In this process, Cortosis is used as the anode, and Beskar as the cathode, with an ionized electrolyte solution to facilitate the ion current.
ATTRIBUTES

  • Main Stats
    • Defence: Extreme
      • Defensive Elements:
        • Extremely Durable
        • Can withstand lightsaber attacks
        • Must likely to short fuse a lightsaber
        • Can dissipate Blaster shots
        • Can dissipate heat
      Offensive Elements: NA
    • Durability: Extreme
    • Scarcity: Universal
Strengths
1. Energy Resistant.
2. Can short fuse light sabers.
3. Efficient Heat Dissipation.
4. Multi environmental tolerance, the alloy maintains structural integrity in extreme temperatures, high radiation zones, and under atmospheric pressure shifts

Weaknesses
1. With wear of attacks the coating can wear off, lowering its inherited Cortosis properties (Lightsaber shortfusing and heat dissipation)
2. 50% Heavier from traditional Beskar armor due to having half of the carbon atoms, making it too heave for most humanoids to wear as full body armor.
3. Logistically, it is more efficient to coat a newly forged alloy piece than to restore a worn or chipped one, as the re-coating process costs approximately 1.3 times more than coating a fresh piece.
4. Brittle edge vulnerability, in cases where blades make of similar material or equal in strength the cortosis layer can chip or crack.

Historical Information
This alloy was created by a science team employed by Linda Morgan to create a new alloy stronger than Beskar for their new droid models of Battle/Assasin droids.
This advanced alloy is primarily composed of Beskar, a highly durable material known for its exceptional ability to withstand lightsaber strikes and blaster bolts, making it a critical component for armor and weapons. Carbon and Cortosis atoms are carefully integrated into the structure of the Beskar during the alloying process. The addition of carbon reduces the overall density of the alloy, making it easier to handle without compromising its remarkable strength and resilience. While Cortosis provides with some inherit minimal heat dissipation properties.

The Beskar was acquired through N'orlannia through a joined effort between the Malsonike clans and Vapeet Holdings to mine the planets beskar alloy deposits.

Once the base alloy is created, a layer of Cortosis is applied to the surface using electrochemical plating. In this process, Cortosis acts as the anode and the Beskar alloy as the cathode, with an ionized electrolyte solution facilitating the transfer of Cortosis ions onto the surface. This process creates a thin but highly effective Cortosis coating that not only provides energy resistance specifically the ability to withstand and even short circuit lightsaber blades, but also enhances the alloy's ability to dissipate heat and absorb the impact of blaster bolts.

The result is a composite material that combines the high durability and energy resistance of Beskar, some lightness and toughness provided by the carbon, and the energy dissipation and heat resistance properties of Cortosis. The final product is an alloy capable of withstanding lightsaber attacks, dissipating blaster bolts, and performing well in high heat environments.

The process of creating this alloy is a closely guarded secret, known only to a few scientists working under secure conditions and Linda Morgan. The specific electrochemical parameters, carbon ratios, and smelting sequences are encrypted and compartmentalized to prevent replication, making the material one of the most coveted and elusive breakthroughs in modern metallurgy that Vapeet Holdings knows of.

3. Its easier logistically to create a new piece than re applying the coating needed 1.3 times the cost to reapply the coating than coating a new batch.
So, based on this, i understand the process to remake a damaged piece is easier than repairing it?

ok, though I dig the concept and I like the level of detail and technicallity put into this, I have to point out that Beskar is considered a rare and closed market item, accessible only by Mandalorians. Therefore, I would like to see in the lore of this material the hows and whens beskar was given by the mandalorians to Linda's industry. Same would apply for the conso focus, due to the said beskar special case.

Sorry I realized how badly that was worded! amended it, please let me know if it has more clarity?

If its ok by you I would prefer to showcase how the Beskar is acquired in the conso itself through multiple posts, rather than on its historical information since I genuinely prefer to keep it more about the technicality of it instead of the logistics.

Unless something else is wrong or you need amendment over the acquiring the Beskar I take it its safe to begin the consolidation on it?
