In recent months, Tha Hiracukimit had descended into a state of chaos.
Lawsuits from Aphotic Industries,
relentless public relations struggles with the Manna locals,
and the sluggish rollout of mining operations on Mannan had left the company battered.
While the mining facilities were now nearly operational and
slow production had finally begun, other pressures loomed.
The recovery of the HK schematics had sparked heated research initiatives and protracted patent negotiations with Czerka Corporation,
drawing resources thin.

And now, as if the turmoil weren’t enough,
the Summit of Vapeet Holdings was fast approaching.
Sitting at her desk,
Linda Morgan scrolled through the endless tasks filling her holoschedule,
pausing as she realized only two vital contacts remained to secure.
She couldn’t afford any more delays.

Leaning forward, she activated the sleek surface of her holo-table.

“GG,”
she said sharply, her voice cutting through the hum of the device,
“connect me to Artenho Marthariel Sunlev.”

The protocol droid responded immediately,
its tone devoid of personality.
“Affirmative, ma’am. Establishing connection.
Your conference will begin shortly.”

A faint chime followed.

BEEP BEEP.

“Connection established,”
GG confirmed.

Linda nodded,
smoothing her demeanor as the holo-image of Mr. Sunlev flickered to life before her.

“Greetings, Mr. Sunlev,”
she began, her tone measured and professional.
“This is Linda Morgan from Vapeet Holdings. I trust you’ve been well?”

@Dreadheart

Artenho Sunlev holo.png
The holoprojection was that of a well-built man. His age was middle to advanced, with the attention given to his physique visible regardless the rather conservative outfit; Another hint to the past military career the man had.
As the holofrequency made connection, the man tilted his head, acknowledging the message received.

"Ms Morgan." his loud and stable voice transmitted through the holo.

"I have been, Force Bless. The tediousness of the routine has yet to be the best of my nerves. I hope you too have been well and strong, ms Morgan?"

Artenho was a rather direct character, wasting no words when making a point. Although not advisable within the senate, and most certainly not common, Artenho had gained public support in Corellia and beyond, due to his rhetoric regarding unitarization of the Republic and the doctrine he called "Determined Defence".

When it came to politics, those Artenho used to socialize with were mainly corporates of high ranking within and beyond Corellia, as well as rogue elements of the Republic who wanted an end to the seemingly perpetualized war with the Sith Empire and other ill-intent factions around the Galaxy.

"What do I owe the pleasure of your contact?" he inquired.

Linda offered a subtle smirk as she considered the man’s presence his posture,
his age her gaze making her thoughts apparent.

"May the Force bless us
Our challenges seem never ending."

She took a measured breath, briefly glancing at the holo.

"Indeed, Sunlev, both I and our team have been closely monitoring the situation.
I understand that restoration efforts have been progressing well?"

Her expression grew more serious, shoulders straightening as she continued.

"My apologies for the interruption,
but I have heard that the Determined Defence initiative is finally making significant strides.
Additionally,
I understand that Nahil Vapeet has been instrumental
in supporting the Green Jedi by advocating for Jedi representation within the council?"

She paused for a moment, collecting her thoughts before continuing.

"Forgive my enthusiasm this is a matter best discussed in person,
which is precisely why I am reaching out to you today.

Sir.
Artenho.
Sunlev.

I would like to formally invite you to the Summit of Vapeet Holdings.
Your presence would be invaluable in underscoring
the importance of a strong Republic presence
both militarily and politically
to our distinguished guests."

She took another breath before adding,

"We have secured a venue on Corellia,
near the Maredian Complex reconstruction efforts.
Frankly, I see no drawbacks to your participation
only opportunities to further demonstrate to the people of Coruscant
and the Republic where additional militarization may be necessary.

What are your thoughts?"

The seasoned Sunlev remained silent, listening to Linda's words with intrigue. In his core, he was uncertain how to feel about the relations preserved with her, or many of the myriad corporations he had reached out and systematically developped connections in hopes of reinforcing his goals in the Senate and the Republic. Like it or not, he was well-aware that it was Credits what ran the stars, not guns, nor strong words...

"The task at hand has always been challenging. But this has been the very reason I am in this business, ms Morgan."

His replies sharp and to the point; characteristic of the grizzled veteran. He would not waste words to earstroke, or charisma to charm. It was, perhaps, one of his weaknesses, that he did not sacrifice principle for gain. According to some of his rivals within the senate, perhaps it was the very reason why he failed to gain the Mon Kala support, as he did not hesitate identifying the Kalamari misdeeds throughout the past crisis...

"Indeed it has been, ms Morgan, and I, and my coleagues are greatful of the Vapeet support." he commented then. "The Determined defence has faced alot of opposition, but the Senate cannot deny what the people know for a fact. It has shown in the past elections in the sectoral voting, and the continental contests on many planets, the people are tired of words. They want action. The Green Jedi have been preaching that for decades, unfortunatelly to deaf ears."

Morgan's invitation was not a shock to Sunlev. If anything, he could figure prior to its voicing, it wasn't gossip that Linda called for. Such corporate individuals usually reached out when they required something of him, be it of political or public appearance gain. When it came to the Vapeet, he knew they were rather capable with formalities and manipulating public opinion. Trust, he never deceived himself, was nor here nor there. This was business to both parties. And now, he had to oblidge, should he wished the Vapeet support to continue.

"It so happens I planned returning to Corellia, ms Morgan, as I wished to represent the Party in the coming conference in Coronet. It would be a pleasure to attend the Summit."

Objective :
Inviting Republic Representatives

For Linda, Sunlev had always been an enigmatic figure,
blunt and uncompromisingly direct in diplomacy and negotiations,
yet sharp as a spear, unwavering and precise when defending his positions.

"Though the path has been challenging,
I am pleased to see that public support,
albeit delayed, is beginning to cut through the bureaucratic red tape.
On that note, and as a final remark,
Magistrate Vapeet has taken a personal interest in your efforts.
Given the opportunity, they would welcome a discussion on the matter at the gathering."

In all her years since leaving the military,
Linda had encountered few individuals like Sunlev.
Whether he held any personal regard for her remained uncertain,
but that was inconsequential.

"I wish you success in the Party’s conference, my dear Sunlev.
I look forward to seeing you at the Summit.
May the Force be with you and have a pleasant day."

Her was tone warm,
but professional, nonetheless.

Outside of their professional dealings,
she did hold a certain respect for the man.
As long as their objectives remained aligned,
her words were entirely sincere.
His unyielding,
pragmatic approach reminded her of the discipline
and clarity of purpose she once knew in the military.
@Artenho Sunlev

Objective:
Preparing for the Gathering

Following her brief yet productive conversation with Artenho,
Linda found herself with a substantial workload ahead.
There were numerous individuals to contact,
logistical arrangements to finalize,
and critical details to oversee in preparation for the summit.

“GG, provide an update on the remaining items in my calendar.”

she instructed, her tone more authoritative than inquisitive.

“A moment, Madam.”

The droid’s photoreceptors flickered rapidly as it processed the request.

“I have noted a pending task
regarding the acquisition of Hutt and Selkathy representation,
as per Dante’s recommendation.
Additionally,
there is a personal note from you regarding the need to secure Jedi representatives
specifically those aligned with Sunlev’s ideals,
as well as a Jedi Master by the name of Regus Vor.
However,
our databanks do not contain a direct contact frequency
for the aforementioned Master Vor.

Furthermore,
the matter of security for the gathering remains unresolved.
Given the recent deployment of our security droids during the Manaan incident,
it is estimated that third-party contractors
will be required to supplement our personnel.

Lastly,
there are several logistical and aesthetic considerations related to the venue on Corellia.
These include outstanding payments,
décor arrangements, ice sculptures, staffing logistics,
music selection, and menu finalization.
Would you prefer for a member of staff to handle any of these ancillary concerns on your behalf?”

Objective:
Preparing for the Gathering

Linda dismissed the droid’s remark about the missing Jedi Master’s frequency.
Some information was best left off public company records.

“I see. Contact Vow,
I will be taking my lunch now,
and we will proceed afterward.
Additionally, schedule a time slot for a conference with Nihil Vapeet.”

She spoke as she retrieved her coat, preparing to leave.
The rich fabric of her deep navy coat,
tailored to fit her sharp silhouette,
caught the ambient office light as she draped it over her shoulders.
The high collar framed her face,
while the silver threaded detailing along the seams added an understated elegance.
Beneath it, she wore a fitted charcoal grey dress with structured shoulders,
paired with sleek leather gloves that matched the polished precision she expected in all things.

“No summit preparations are to be authorized without my direct approval.
I will personally oversee every aspect of the event.”

“Understood, Madam. I will await your return. Enjoy your lunch.”

Linda smirked slightly at the droids formal response.
“You could use an oil bath yourself, GG.”

“I have scheduled one following the completion of today’s tasks.
Thank you for your consideration, Madam.”

Linda did not respond,
though a faint smirk lingered on her lips.
The sharp echo of her heels against the polished tile floor accompanied her departure from the office,
each step deliberate, a reminder that in her world, control was never relinquished only managed.

Objective

Jedi Representation & Jedi Master Regus Vor

The office maintained a delicate balance between order and chaos a symphony of legal debates,
negotiations, and executive decisions unfolding within its walls.
Yet, for the team, today was a rare moment of relative simplicity.

Linda, however, was anything but at ease.
Everything was proceeding as planned,
yet she refused to allow herself even a moment of reprieve
not until every detail was accounted for, particularly the upcoming call.

Jedi Master Regus Vor.

The Magistrate had always referred to him as a trusted ally.
Yet Linda had long since learned to take the Magistrate’s words with measured skepticism.
She still recalled her last encounter with Master Vor
a meeting both productive and bitter in equal measure.
Regardless, this call was necessary.

“GG, disconnect my holo table from the company network,”
she instructed, her voice firm.

“Madam,
company policy strictly prohibits
the disconnection of internal systems
from corporate oversight.”
the droid responded.

Linda’s expression hardened,
her piercing blue gaze locking onto the droid as if it could bore through its metal chassis.

“I am well aware, GG.
I wrote those policies myself.
Now execute the disconnection as ordered.
Initiate protocol VP-59,
followed by PROX-46.
Maintain connection to the terminal until both protocols are fully operational,
and conduct a double-layer security diagnostic.”

The droid hesitated for only a fraction of a second before complying.

“I will begin immediately.
Estimated time to establish secure lines and reroute holo frequencies:
six standard minutes.
Security diagnostics will follow,
with a minimum estimated duration of ten standard minutes.”

“Protocol execution complete.
I will now begin security diagnostics, Madam.”

Linda gave a slight nod,
her mind only half absorbing the report.
Her thoughts drifted,
tangled in unspoken concerns and conflicting priorities.

Loyalty.
Profit.
Vulnerability.
Compromise.

Allegiances.

Did these concepts hold true meaning,
or was it merely perception that gave them weight?
The question lingered in her mind, unresolved.

“Madam,
I am pleased to report that
no security vulnerabilities have been detected.”

“Good.
Now disconnect from the system and leave the room.
This matter is private.”

The droid hesitated, a rare occurrence.

“But,
Madam,
in the event of a security breach,
I will be unable to assist.”

Linda exhaled sharply.
“You have just ensured that won’t be necessary.
I will summon you when I require you.
Additionally,
as this matter falls outside the company’s jurisdiction,
your presence as company property contradicts the objective.”

“As you wish, Madam.”

GG departed at a measured pace,
its servos whirring softly.
If a machine could experience emotions,
one might have thought it was reluctant
perhaps even disheartened.

With the room now empty,
Linda moved with calculated precision.
She crossed to the sleek bar cabinet,
pouring herself a glass of Corellian ale,
the rich amber liquid catching the dim light.
Slipping a hand into a concealed pocket within her tailored jacket,
she retrieved a small data card.
From another, a compact holoviewer.

The interface was stark and functional,
displaying a list of seven articles.
Each entry contained subsections:

  • Current Whereabouts
  • Status: Deceased or Active
  • Communication Methods
  • Known Associates
Among many more.....
She selected an entry: Gaisal vel.

Her fingers moved fluidly as she input the corresponding contact frequency into the holo table.

Enter.

The room fell silent,
save for two sounds

the persistent tinnitus of an outgoing holo transmission
and the slow crackling of ice shifting in her glass.

Objective
Securing the Venue

The pristine tiles of the CEO’s office reflected the harsh sunlight of Manaan,
casting sharp lines across the polished surfaces.
Linda was engrossed in work,
meticulously reviewing paperwork,
signing off on logistical arrangements,
and ensuring every detail aligned with company protocol.
Across the room,
her protocol droid,
GG-69,
attended to its duties with mechanical precision.

“Madam Morgan,
your holo conference with Jedi Knight Nihil Vapeet
is scheduled to commence in the next quarter of a standard hour.”

“Thank you, GG.
I will be finished shortly
go ahead and initiate the conference when the time comes.”

Nihil Vapeet.

She had known him for over two decades.
Though formally the adopted son of Magistrate Vapeet,
it was Linda who had raised him,
overseeing his education and upbringing
while the Magistrate remained preoccupied with business and political obligations.
The adoption,
in reality,
had been a byproduct of a larger business arrangement,
but one that the Magistrate had undertaken as an act of goodwill.

The day Nihil informed her of his decision
to join the Jedi Order had been a moment of conflicting emotions.
She had spent years grooming him for a future within Vapeet Holdings,
yet she had never been one to interfere in matters of family.
Even now,
though she remained fond of him,
he served as a reminder of why she had chosen to distance herself from such personal entanglements.

A sharp,
rhythmic chime broke her thoughts
the holo-connection had been established.
As the transmission stabilized,
a figure materialized before her.

The silhouette of a Sith Pureblood took shape,
standing tall in Jedi ceremonial robes.
Beneath the fabric,
hints of armor were visible,
a sign of practicality rather than excess.
His dark red skin contrasted with the muted tones of his attire,
and the sharp tendrils adorning his face bore faint marks of old piercings,
a remnant of ancient Sith customs.

“Linda. It’s been a long time,”
Nihil greeted, his deep voice steady, his tone casual.
“GG informed me you required my assistance.”

Linda offered a slight smile.

“What’s wrong, Nihil?
Can’t I call just to check in?
Or are you afraid the Jedi might think we’re trying to lure you back?”

She punctuated the remark with a quiet chuckle.

Nihil exhaled lightly in amusement, his posture relaxing slightly.

“I’m fairly certain you’re already more informed
about my whereabouts than I’d prefer.
You were always rather… protective,”
he remarked.
“But no, in truth, I’m on a tight schedule. Still, it’s always a pleasure to see you, Linda.”

“I see,”
she replied, her tone shifting.
The pleasantries had run their course
it was time to get to business.
“I assume Jedi Master Vilbolra has been keeping you occupied.
I’ll be brief.”

She straightened slightly,
signaling the transition to formal matters.

“The gathering is fast approaching,
as I’m sure you recall.
I was hoping you could assist with security.”

Nihil sighed.
“Linda,
you know the Jedi aren’t private contractors.
But yes, I’m aware of the event.
I was, however, surprised to hear that my Master was invited.
I assume that was your doing?”

Linda nodded.
“The board determined that,
given the current climate,
Jedi presence was essential.”

“That’s a fair assessment.
But if security for high profile attendees has already been arranged,
why the call?”

“Because despite those arrangements,
we have a problem,”

Linda stated plainly.
“With our ongoing ventures,
our internal security forces are stretched thin.
We require additional personnel.”

Nihil frowned slightly.
“Linda,
if the Jedi have already allocated resources for the event,
I highly doubt they’ll spare more to serve as security.
We’re spread thin as it is with everything happening in the galaxy.”

He hesitated for a moment before adding,
“And I assume members of the Hutt Cartel will be in attendance again.
Can't they assist on that?”
His distaste for the Hutts was evident always had been.
Linda exhaled, understanding his frustration.

“This gathering is about shaping the future of the Republic.
The last thing we need is a group of thugs from Nar Shaddaa patrolling the venue.
We require Republic sympathizers at the very least
ideally, actual Republic troops.
Perhaps on a freelance basis?”

Nihil’s expression darkened.
“Linda, you’re asking for something beyond my influence.
You know I can’t pull those kinds of strings…
not anymore.”

Linda didn’t respond immediately.
She let the silence linger,
allowing the weight of the conversation to settle.

Finally, Nihil spoke again.
“I can’t get you Republic troops.
However… there is a crew I know of.
They’re highly pro Republic.
We’ve crossed paths before,
always under amicable circumstances.
They’ve been making a name for themselves in Republic space.
Reliable.
Capable.”
He paused before adding,
“There is one complication,
though, considering your guest list.”

Linda raised an eyebrow.
“And that would be?”
“They’re Mandalorians.
Clan Skirata.”

She understood the implication immediately.
Even after all this time,
many within the Republic and the Jedi Order
had not forgotten the Mandalorian blockade at the start of the war.

“But you’re certain they’ve always aligned themselves with the Republic’s interests?”

“To my knowledge, yes.”

“In that case,
I see no issue.
If they have consistently demonstrated loyalty,
then this could serve as a reminder to the Republic
that allies come in many forms and that there are always alternatives.”

She leaned forward slightly.
“Can you provide me with their contact information?”
Nihil hesitated for a brief moment before nodding.
“I’ll have it forwarded to GG by the end of the day.”

“Perfect.
It was good speaking with you,
Nihil.
I’ll see you at the gathering.”

“Likew—”

The transmission cut off abruptly.

Uncharacteristic of her.
But Linda had always despised saying goodbye to Nihil.

The rest of the day passed in routine.
She finalized reports,
reviewed a pending company merger,
and meticulously analyzed the notes Dante had left for her.
As the sun dipped below the skyline,
GG’s voice interrupted her focus.

“Madam,
Jedi Knight Nihil Vapeet
has transmitted the contact details for Clan Skirata.”

“Understood.
Prepare a message and forward it to the provided frequency.”

“Yes,
Madam.
Recording in
three…
two…
one.”

Linda straightened her posture,
ensuring her tone was both professional and respectful.

“Greetings,
Clan Skirata.
My name is Linda Morgan,
CEO of Tha Hiracûkimit.
I am reaching out regarding a freelance opportunity within Republic space,
specifically near the Meredian Complex.

Jedi Knight Nihil Vapeet
has spoken highly of your commitment
to justice and your efforts in aiding the Republic.
Your reputation precedes you.
If you are interested in this venture,
please contact me at this frequency
so we may arrange a meeting to discuss the details further.
Should you call outside of business hours,
my droid, GG-69,
will handle scheduling.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Have a pleasant day.”

At the end of her message,
she spoke a brief phrase in Mando’a.
Her pronunciation was far from perfect,
but she had spent years familiarizing herself with the language.

A gesture of goodwill.

And, perhaps, an omen of promising negotiations to come.
