Early Life on Korriban:
Born on Korriban, the ancestral home of the Sith, Veraxis was initially known as Vaaran, a Force-sensitive Twi’lek orphan navigating the treacherous landscape of ancient Sith ruins and the dark, oppressive atmosphere of the planet. His early years were marked by struggle and survival amid rival acolytes, each seeking to harness the dark powers that Korriban promised.
Even before his formal training, Vaaran showed an unusual affinity for the dark side, often using fear and intimidation to dominate those around him. His childhood experiences, steeped in the lore of the Sith, fostered a hunger for power and control that would shape his future.
Training at the Sith Academy:
At a young age, Vaaran caught the attention of a Sith Inquisitor, who recognized his potential and brought him to the Sith Academy. There, he adopted the name Veraxis, meaning “the bringer of truth through suffering.” His training was rigorous, focused on mastering the darker aspects of the Force, particularly in mind manipulation and sorcery.

Defection and Finding Darth Malvus:
When Darth Malvus rebelled against the main Sith Empire, Veraxis saw an opportunity to break free from the constraints that had begun to stifle his ambitions. Recognizing Malvus as a formidable figure willing to challenge the status quo, Veraxis defected from the Empire.
Upon joining Malvus, Veraxis offered his expertise in mind manipulation and torture, seeking a place where his dark arts would be valued rather than condemned. Malvus welcomed him as a valuable asset, appreciating Veraxis’ unique skill set and willingness to explore the depths of the dark side.
Why Veraxis Follows Malvus:
Veraxis remains loyal to Malvus for several reasons:

Skills/Abilities: Sith sorcery, mastery level sith mind control, and illusions. He uses the force to invade the minds of others to drive them to madness, forcing enemies to turn on each other, or to even extract information. His torturing techniques are infamous for breaking the strongest of wills, and simply causing suffering for the sheer pleasure of it.
Equipment/Gear: A curved light saber hilt with a crimson blade, primarily used for defense. His true weapon is the dark side of the force to which he wields with mastery.
Ship/Vehicle: Usually housed on a dark side enclave mobile command center when not at the main citadel of the Obsidian Court.
