Strengths
+ Heart of Nightmares. The Iši-Nang Múd stands as a place of darkness and horror to any mortal creatures daring, or brutalized enough to make their way near its Red Mists. From atop the spires, the demonic overlords of Iši-Nang Múd cast horrifying spells across the land, tainting the minds of the numerous demons that dwell in the foul settlement, while preying on the mortal souls that approach, driving them deranged to the point of pure insanity.
+ Blasphemous Prison. Deep within Iši-Nang Múd, lie numerous demons and creatures of the Night trapped in near-eternal torment, with sole purpose to fuel the horrific designs of their demonic captors, turning their very own existence into powercells for the defenses of Iši-Nang Múd.
+ Bane of Mortals. The very environment is near-deadly to most mortal creatures, having the first take on harvesting the souls of the unfortunates tasked with invading the demonic land.
Weaknesses
- Time Bomb. Although turned into a near-impregnable fortress through the use of the many imprisoned creatures held deep within the dungeons of Iši-Nang Múd. Although it makes for a horrifyingly capable defense, the very prospect of the immense power used going rogue, through a breach, or even an internal revolt, could mean the very Iši-Nang Múd itself be wiped out in a maelstorm of arcane warfare. A threat that all the demonic overlords of it make sure to keep in mind and invest in preemptive actions to avoid such a catastrophic outcome.
- Hive of Scum. Numerous demonic creatures and dark entities dwell in Iši-Nang Múd, making it a fortress as much as a metropolis. Alas, with all the foulness of its majesty, Iši-Nang Múd is a single entity in all but name, as most of its denizens have little to no ties to one another, leading to frequent internal clashes between powerhungry factions and demon overlords vying for control over the symbolic land of Red Mist.
- Blessed and Cursed. While Iši-Nang Múd may appear as a near-impregnable bastion, in reality, there is little technology within it, with almost all weapons in its arsenal being of arcane nature. That makes its defenders vulnerable should the enemy packs means with which to nullify, or supress the arcane effects.
Historical Information
Most on Terra Firma have long forgotten the horrifying events that twisted and perverted the lands of the Xenthian Mountains to become the nightmarish realms they are now. Resentment and spite, attrocities and conflicts unresolved ever since the Age of Gods, bound by brass chains in an aeonic turmoil trapped in a place damned by gods and demons alike. Although it remains unknown at which point the mountainous peaks of the Xenthian mountains were transformed to the demonic nestings of the Iši-Nang Múd, many among the demonkind speak of origins dating back to the early years of the War In Heaven.
Once, Iši-Nang Múd was a Vampiric fortress, standing as a proud beckon of the Abhertach patron god, Tiarnadorch, with the blood legions from its halls purging many a demon horde that came to challenge the might of their Empire. The fortress stood for eons, a thorn to the demonkin and a symbol of majesty and supremacy for the Vampiric world.
Alas, nothing may last forever... And the Vampires of Iši-Nang Múd would come to learn that lesson in a manner most grotesque and foul, even they shook in fear beholding such site....
It came as a storm of rage and blood and fire, boiling the rivers and burning the forests that dressed the soil until only barren wastelands remained. All the Vampires rallied beneath the banners of their undead masters, and silver of blades and spears and halberds shined against the fiery red. And so they came, through the blackness and the ash, engulfed by the stench of cadavers and grimstone. And so, came the doom of all, for those too brave or too proud to flee before such a spectacle.
A demonic host of size far beyond any number fathomed by mortal kin emerged, charging through the darkness conjured by the foul magicks of the nightmare's darkest denizens. Like a tidal wave, the demonic horde fell upon the walls of the Citadel in reckless mania, while the arcane powers of the Vampire sorcerers waned as if the very dark gods had turned their backs to their minions in a single moment of infernal judgement. As the battle raged, the sheer number of the demonic horde was so heavy, even the eonic warriors of the Blood Legions failed to stand true, as for the very first time they felt their very own patron bleeding across the world they had claimed for Him. And as the demon waves cracked through the defenses, the mountains shook yet again, with power strong enough to level entire segments of the defenses, swallowing the Vampiric defenders by the dozens in maws of dark and eldrich gluttony. And so, the Blood Legions fell...
Alas, a war of eternals would not be as merciful an end as the blessed mortals know it to be. Oh, no...
By the hundreds, the fallen Vampires were chained and their bodies flayed of skin, enough for their dark hearts to sprout out, beating against the fiery wind of destruction while their host bodies refused to become cadavers. For decades whole, the demonic horde pushed deeper and deeper into the Citadels, collapsing the towers and carving the mountains where the Vampiric Legions once based their bastions, erecting foul monuments of their carnage and prisons in which they chained the hundreds of captive Vampires.
In a final act of desecration towards the minions of Tiarnadorch, the grand massacre continued across the province, while demonic hosts periodically marched out their new hive, Iši-Nang Múd, to slaughter and pillage the world around them, before returning the numerous captives to the site to be ritualistically butchered in the name of the rising demonkind's hideous new patrons.
The land surrounding Iši-Nang Múd gradually fell to corruption and the taint of the demonic denizens, with any wildlife surviving becoming twisted to their image...
At the very top of Iši-Nang Múd, the first demon overlords carved a massive sculpture of tainted matter, trapped half-life cadavers and imprisoned Vampires, the Throne of Chaos; A symbol of the demonic might over the world they laid claim over, and the later seat of the Paragon, a mighty demon warlord strong enough to force submission over the warring factions of Iši-Nang Múd and ascend to an imperator figure of the Black Legions.
