Name: Filorentis- The Fey Republic
Starting Provinces: Verenna, Passa, TBD.
Brief Description: The City State Filorentis also known as The Fey Republic is a nation of well Fey formerly a Kingdom the Sidhe King was and much of the royal family were killed. The only survivor the Fae Prince was too young to ascend the thrown. The Fae nobles could not decide on a regent amongst themselves so turned to a High Priestess for wisdom in deciding. She decided that they should form a Republic. With one representative from select noble families would be elected to a Senate. Election would also be held for two Consuls. The people could vote for Tribunes. When the Fae Prince came of age he would have symbolic power as well as duties to the Senate. Now the Fae Prince has come of age and the Senate fears he may try to take power, but the Fae Prince believes the republic is no true republic. He believes the people should have a vote and representatives in the Senate not based on blood lines. He wishes to erase the caste system and the separation of the races. He wants a constitutional monarchy.
The caste system is based on what race of fey you are Sidhe are at the top, then Elves often priest class, Centaur scholars and knights, Dwarves merchants and tradesmen, Fauns, Nymphs and Satyrs the arts, Halflings farmers, shopkeepers, Minotaurs manual labor. So on and so forth. When the army marches they are divided into these classes. Dwarves often make up the heavy infantry, Elves Archers and Swordsmen, Cavalry Centaurs, Talking animals and Unicorns. Gryphons and Giant Eagles air cavalry. Other races divided up to where they are deemed the most useful or appropriate.
Magic is slowly fading from Filorentis where once every Fae had a touch of it now only a few do. Some believe and have begun to whisper that the Fae have lost there way and the Princes affinity of magic is a sign he is blessed and destined to rule.
