Ship Name: Eilean Caravel
Credits:
Type: Seaship
Purpose: Cargo/War Ship
Consolidation Thread: NA
Architect: @Dreadheart
Description: The Caravel is a rather odd-looking multi-layered seaship, with elevated sterncastle bridge and two main decks. Caravels are usually pulled by the wind trapped in their four or three masts, distinguishing them from their Cog counterparts, in an odd blend of Brythonic and Erovan shipbuilding, yielding a rather distinct design.

Historical Information
The Eilean Sea, just like the Kraken Sea, has always been a haven of piracy and viking activity. Forced to contest with the Nordur Longships in speed and manuveurability, the Eirish developped the Caravel; A ship that in many ways was inspired by the longship, yet became a distinct design by the dawn of the 8th century, heavily affected by the increasing influence of the Erovan realms on Eirish culture and technology.
The Caravel remains true to the Eilean "fast troop carrier" mentality that derives from the Nordur, yet with enough innovation to make the ship formidable in a naval confrontation, with several arrowslits and reinforced positions to allow better protection of her crew.
