BOUNTY SYSTEM RULES
The bounty system is designed to encourage dynamic roleplay between hunters, fugitives, and those who place bounties. Below are the rules and guidelines for posting, claiming, and resolving bounties.
1. Placing a Bounty
• Any player or faction may place a bounty, but it must be reasonable and justified in-universe.
• The minimum bounty amount is 100,000 credits to ensure that bounties remain significant and worth pursuing.
• A bounty must include the following:
• The name or description of the target
• The mission type (Capture Alive / Dead or Alive / Assassination / Retrieval, etc.)
• The payout amount and any bonuses
• Any conditions or restrictions
• Bounties on Player Characters (PCs) require OOC consent from the target’s player.
• Faction-backed bounties must be approved by the faction’s leadership before posting.
2. Claiming a Bounty
• Only characters with reasonable skills, backgrounds, and resources can claim bounties. If your character isn’t a bounty hunter, assassin, or mercenary, be prepared to justify their involvement.
• Multiple hunters can pursue the same bounty, leading to competition or cooperation.
• Players must announce their intent to claim a bounty in the relevant bounty board thread or contact the issuer IC.
• If multiple hunters claim the same bounty, the outcome will be determined by collaborative roleplay or PvP resolution mechanics if applicable.
3. Completing a Bounty
• The bounty is considered completed when the issuer confirms the task is fulfilled.
• If the bounty is for capture, the issuer determines the target’s fate.
• The agreed-upon payment must be honored in full unless negotiated otherwise IC.
• Targets may attempt to escape, negotiate, or retaliate, leading to additional roleplay opportunities.
4. Bounties on Player Characters (PCs)
• Players cannot place a bounty on another PC without their OOC consent.
• PC targets have the right to resist, evade, or negotiate. The outcome must be determined through roleplay.
• If a PC bounty hunter fails, they may become a target of a counter-bounty.
5. NPC Bounties
• NPC bounties are available for solo or group roleplay and may be used for character development, storytelling, or faction goals.
• If an NPC bounty is faction-backed, the faction leadership may determine the difficulty and reward.
• The issuer must decide if the NPC bounty requires staff oversight (for major events) or if it can be handled independently.
6. Unclaimed and Expired Bounties
• If a bounty remains unclaimed for 30 days, it may be renewed, increased, or removed.
• Expired bounties may still attract rogue hunters or become faction conflicts depending on the issuer’s influence.
7. Breaking the Rules
• Any attempt to metagame, godmod, or powergame (such as a target refusing reasonable consequences) will be addressed by moderators.
• Issuers who consistently refuse to pay bounties may be banned from using the system.
• Any disputes should be settled through OOC discussion before involving staff.
