3. Bulky engines, forced crash landings.

Historical Information
The original version of the craft was created by Dabbi engineers living in Salir Province, produced, and used in a civil war in Sol. Salirian soldiers used two of these to land on top of a mountain range, behind Dabbi rebel soldier lines. The original inventor remains unknown as it sort of appeared. It is believed the original inventor was on drugs and overdosed, killing himself by accident. The original purpose was for dropping Greek fire which the Confederate changed for humane reasons. The Salirians caught the Dabbi rebels in a crossfire between their forces. The Confederate captured the prototype of the aircraft before it took off. They took the design and modified it, increasing the engine speed and material used to increase its speed.

FINALLY WE TAKE TO THE HEAVENS!

I love the concept!

Now, few remarks, for good measure 😅

1. In strengths, I believe you meant to write "CAN" land on short running strips :P Not Cant xD

2. Given the setup, and the fact musket fire can go through, I understand this is an anti-medieval type of airship, meaning ballista/bow/etc projectiles can be stopped, but advanced tech or serious magic should crack it open.
On that regard, which i love for balance reasons and flavour, I would like to ask, would that mean that given it is steam powered, well-placed shots could pierce through the engine and cause it to fall, or even worse, spill the charcoal and set fire from the inside? I feel this would be a WAY more representing weakness than Bulky Vehicle, all things considered.

Lastly, on Historical info, I see there is some nice plot behind it. I therefore ought to scratch for further plot, like the cheap plot nerd i am:
When we say the Dabbi used it first, was that the -initial- design, or was it later changed when the Confederate took it? Did anyone else steal or get the specific design? Was it at any point changed, developped or so? Do we know anything about the inventor? How the need to fly came to be per se?

If the Confederate got hold of the design, did they work a modernized version, or did their adoptation moved the design back in terms of evolution? Did the Confederate even got to fight against that airship, or is it something still in dabbi hands?
It is way intriguing and i feel it could take some more nice spice as a sub!
